Who are we?

Welcome to the 1st Huncote & Croft Scouts, we meet on a Monday evening from 19:45 to 21:00

Our Scout section is open, for both male & female members aged from 10 ½ – 14 years old. Once the Scouts have made their Scout promise they wear a Green Shirt and our Group neckerchief, which is Blue & Yellow.

The Scout Promise (other versions are available to suit the young person)

On my honour, I promise that I will do my best

To do my duty to God and to the Queen

To help other people

And to keep the Scout Law

The Scout Law

  1. A Scout is to be Trusted
  2. A Scout is Loyal
  3. A Scout is Friendly & Considerate
  4. A Scout belongs to the world-wide family of Scouts
  5. A Scout has courage in all difficulties
  6. A Scout makes good use of time and is careful of possessions & property
  7. A Scout has self-respect and respect for others

What do we do?

When the Scout joins they will join a Patrol these are friends they may know or will soon make. As they progress though Scouts they may even get to become an Assistant Patrol Leader or Patrol Leader.

There are 59+ Activity badges specially designed for the Scout section, along with Staged badges, some they will complete with the rest of the Scout Troop during meetings or at camp. They can also complete these at home or at other clubs. So if they have a hobby or skill there may be a Scout badge you can gain.

There are also 9 Challenges which when gained leads to them achieving their Chief Scout Gold Award which is the highest badge a Scout can gain. We have a fun & exciting programme and encourage parents involvement, as we often need extra support when we go out and about, which we try to do as much as possible in the summer months. During the winter we spend more time indoors and concentrate of completing activity badges, which is a fun way for children to learn about the subject we are covering.
